The Second Annual Men’s Retreat sponsored by the United Methodist Men will be at Central Oak Heights campgrounds in West Milton Friday-Saturday, October 2-3, 2009.  All Men of the church are invited to join us in a time of Fun Faith and Fellowship.  We carpool from the church at 4 PM on Friday arriving in time for supper at 5 PM.  Led again by Pastor Howard Woodruff, we will deal with a faith journey based on the theme TRUST.  Friday night will conclude with a Bonfire.  Plenty of room in the Missionary Cottage for all who want to stay overnight. Transportation is being arranged by Jim Knowlden, Vice President, for those who might want to join us either or both days, but not stay overnight.  Saturday begins with breakfast at 8 AM followed sessions in the morning.  We leave time for great fun and fellowship.  Being in God’s beautiful wooded surroundings we will be blessed by this time of men’s fellowship.  There is a signup sheet for those attending to bring various food items and so there will be no expense for each individual. The men who participated last year were so enthusiastic to keep it a yearly tradition and are hopeful that MANY other men – young and old – will join us for the event.

The United Methodist Men would like to pay special tribute to the men and women who served in our military and are now Veterans.  We are looking for information (years served, places, branch of the military, etc) and photos of those who have served our country.  Please submit information and photos as soon as possible so that we can include  ALL VETERANS in our celebrated salute!!
