Ministry in Music

The five musical groups of Faxon-Kenmar will continue to add their special ministry to our worship services during April and May before breaking for the summer.  Music Appreciation Sunday will be observed on May 18, 2008 when all of the ensembles combine for a musical presentation to end this program season. The Inspirational Singers, our Adult Singing Choir, leads in worship on the first & third Sundays of the month.  They will also sing on Mother’s Day.  We are so thankful for their continued commitment and dedication. The Master’s Musicians, our instrumental group, will play on April 27th and May 18th.  If you play an instrument, it is not too late to join us for these final performances. Teen Celebration (Youth Handbell Choir) will ring on April 13, May 18, and May 25 (Youth Sunday).  Joyful Ringers (the Adult Handbell Choir) will ring on April 27 & May 18.  Both HB Choirs will play together on May 18th.  There will be 22 ringers performing at the same time – what a glorious sound that will be! The King’s Kids (the Children’s Choir) continue to amaze us! In addition to singing, the kids have used motions, chimes, rhythm instruments, sang in the Christmas cantata, and on April 13 will perform on BOOMWHACKERS! They also will share something special on Mother’s Day. Summer Music Camp is scheduled for July 14–18.  Letters will be going out to last year’s participants and registration forms will be available soon.  We hope that if you know of children who might be interested that you will pass the word so they can join us again.  Last year’s camp was an overwhelming success! Please share your appreciation  with the musical family of your church for it has been a GREAT year of praising God through our musical talents.  David Koskey, our Director of Musical Ministries, is always looking for special music for our 8 AM Celebration Services. Special Music is needed through the summer for BOTH services.  Please volunteer your talents!
